Though we always want to become a First World Country, still it is unreachable. Different kinds of crisis struck the country and even turn our lives upside down. What are the reasons for this?
Let us first consider what a First World Philippines is all about: (1) Moral Integrity, (2) Social Justice, (3)Cultural Identity, (4) Good Governance, and (5) Economic Prosperity. Taking part on moral integrity, surely we can't foresee progress because of the fact that even our president is facing a lot of moral issues like corruption.
On the other hand, in the aspect of social justice it is very obvious how justice in our country is being played by people who have lots of money and are prominent. There are also instances that those who are poor and innocent are adjudged as guilty rather than those rich who committed the sin. Is this what we call justice?
Another aspects are cultural identity and good governance. Again, it is very hopeless knowing that the politicians are divided and are always fighting each other because they both want to have the power. Such are the opposition and the administration groups.
The last aspect is economic prosperity. Can the country prosper if the people are suffering economically? Obviously, the price of rice per kilo is continuously increasing and I wouldn't be surprised if in the future , rice will be sold per grain.
These problems are the reasons of our failure toward attaining a First World Philippines but if we start in ourselves in learning to change for the betterment of mankind, then surely we can let the unreachable first world country drop into our hands.
